Senator Saraki, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and
Publicity, Yusuph Olaniyonu, described Obaseki’s success as “well
deserved and expected by those who have keenly followed the
electioneering campaigns in the state in the last few months”.
He also congratulated Governor Oshiomhole who has led Edo State in
the last seven and a half years and “has led a vigorous campaign to
sustain the APC legacy in Edo State”.
Senator Saraki also lauded the people of Edo State for the massive
turnout, the peaceful manner in which the election went and for voting
for the APC candidate.
He also praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)
for “the good arrangement it put in place to ensure a free, fair and
peaceful election” while also applauding the performance of all the
security agencies.
